In Memory of Sunnie

MEMORIALSunnie001-1024x768.jpgOn January 9th, 2013, we said goodbye to our sweet Sunnie girl. We were so lucky to have 7 wonderful years with her. We adopted her from FBRN on January 21st, 2006. From the moment we met Sunnie, we just absolutely adored her. She taught us so much, was the consummate comedian, and took us for quite the ride. Anyone who met her knows that she reserved her love and affection only for those closest to her… everyone else got to hear her trademark Frenchie yodel. Sunnie loved chasing bunnies and squirrels. We knew we were in for it when 3 weeks after adopting her, she got stuck under the deck of the house trying to catch one of those darned squirrels. Mason had to take up the deck boards to get her out. Sunnie was a mill dog for her first two years, and we think she was taken from her mother far too early. Despite those initial dark days, she remained infinitely resilient and that short little corkscrew tail kept wagging no matter what. She loved greeting her dad every night when he got home from work, giving kisses, playing with her BFF and fellow FBRN adoptee Denny, and settling in for a nice warm snuggle and belly rub on the couch. Rest in peace sweet Sunnie, we miss you so much. See you on the other side.
