In Memory of Houdini

I first met Houdini this summer. He was very thin and his coat was scruffy ... but you could see a light in his eyes and a warmth to his spirit. I am eternally grateful to the wonderful woman who cared for Houdini when his tummy was giving him trouble and gave him the chance to be a normal dog with doggie friends to play with. I could see that he had quality to his life, and that he was loved. Together we tried to heal his frail little body, but our efforts failed and Houdini escaped this world on November 22nd, 2009. I'm so glad I got to meet this little man and to see him roll in the grass, run with his friends and to rub his belly. Houdini ... I knew you only a short time, but I will remember you forever.
