Wren has brachycephalic airway syndrome. She had airway surgery in 2011, but remains symptomatic, so her breathing must be monitored during exercise or play.

Wren has a Meibomian gland mass on her right lower eyelid. She also suffers from keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) and must remain on Optimmune 0.2% Ophthalmic Ointment. She must be followed by an ophthalmologist.

Wren is thrilled to announce that she is ready for her forever home! Sweet Wren was surrendered after her previous owners realized that their new baby was allergic. At 9-years-old, Wren is getting a few gray hairs and looking for a loving and low-key forever home to call her own.

Wren has a few health concerns. She has dry eye that requires lifelong medication/ointment and she'll need to see a canine opthalmologist regularly. Additionally, she has a "Meibomian gland mass" on her lower right eyelid. Wren has already had surgery for palate and nares, but her breathing is still harsh. Applicants should read up on Brachycephalic Airway System. The surgeon who examined her recommended a calm and relaxed life out of the heat and humidity. This suits Wren just fine! She sleeps and naps as often as she can.

Wren enjoys the company of the older children in her foster home and we think she would be fine with children as young as 5 or 6 as long as they are dog savvy and won't get her wound up with too much chasing and running around. Wren does well with the dogs in her foster home, but she doesn’t interact with them much. She would probably be just as happy as an only dog! Wren does tend to get a little excited about the resident cat and actually tries to hump the cat. Potential adopters with a very tolerant cat would be best.

Wren is very much a loafer. She has shown no interest in toys and would rather be napping or following her human around the house. She just wants to be where her people are! Wren also enjoys mealtime and sitting in her human’s lap while watching TV. She enjoys car rides and even does a little happy dance when she sees her leash, but Wren requires short walks and only in cooler weather.

Wren is house broken and crate trained. She knows “sit” and is very well mannered. She is too small to jump on furniture and her foster mom has never even heard her bark!

Wren is looking for a calm home. Ideally with someone who is home all or most of the day. Other pets in the home should be calmer as well. Wren would be happy in a house or an apartment as long as she is able to go out often without having to climb stairs. A fenced yard is not required, but if Wren must be walked for potty breaks, they would have to be kept short so she doesn't overdo it. A moderate climate would be best.

Wren enjoys her people and affection and we would love to see her in a forever home where someone was home all day! We also think Wren would make a wonderful office dog as long as she had a place where she could comfortably nap.

Here are a few words from her foster mom, “Wren is the sweetest little lady. She craves human touch and wants to be with a person often. She's petite but also snores like a grown man. Food is definitely the way to this girl's heart! If you can provide her with lots of love, two meals a day and a comfy place to sleep- she will be your shadow all day long!”
