In Memory of Rocky

Our 2008 FBRN Grad "Mini-Me," also known as Rocky, lost his battle with brain cancer on Sunday, September 30, 2018.  The house is quiet without his constant snores, and everything reminds us of him. We are so blessed to have had him for 10 wonderful years. I will never forget the day he became ours. He had been at FBRN and given up by two previous owners. I heard a rumble in the driveway and when I looked out the window, the foster had drove up into our driveway and Rocky was in the sidecar of his motorcycle! We knew we had our hands full from that day on! He loved to chase lizards in the Florida heat, and settled into his new home here in Alabama quite well. We chose Rocky because he was so kind and gentle with our other Frenchie, Harley. Harley, being paralyzed, had lost a bit of his spirit. Rocky made him feel like a normal dog again. Rocky didn't care that Harley couldn't walk or run, he would wrestle with Harley like he was no different. Because of Rocky, Harley lived a longer and happier life. Rocky was also so sweet to all baby kittens and other animals that we fostered over the years. We know that Rocky is in a wonderful and better place without any suffering. Today as I was walking out to my car to go home from school, two butterflies crossed my path and flew alongside of me as I walked. They were playing and swirling around together, and then went into the field by the school. I just knew it was Harley and Rocky letting me know that everything will be ok.

Until We Meet Again,
