Mowgli has learned the ways of the big wide world and is ready to find the perfect forever home! While he knows that all he needs to be happy are the bare necessities, we are hoping his new family will also provide him with a big fenced yard to play in, another pup to wrassle with, and lots of love and cuddles.

At just two years old, Mowgli is FULL of energy and wants to play, play, play! He will always bring you a toy and ask to play tug or fetch. He loves to play with his foster brother and wrestle around. He really enjoys playing with his stuffie toys and his foster family keeps one at hand at all times to entertain him. On a typical day a few good walks and some play time will tire him out and then he's happy to snuggle up for a nap. He's a snuggler, but he's also independent and confident.

Mowgli likes other dogs and gets along really well with his laidback foster brother. He has met a lot of other dogs that he really likes but the introduction is key. He is very excitable when he sees another dog while on a walk, and depending on the other dog it can, at times, cause some barking.

Mowgli is housebroken and crate trained and knows a few commands such as "sit." He is very smart, but in typical frenchie fashion, he can be a bit stubborn and have "selective hearing" when it comes to obeying commands. His new owners should continue to work on his training, especially on the leash. He is okay on the leash but will pull if he sees another dog. A training class would be great for establishing some boundaries and creating bonds.

Mowgli would do best with a family that has someone at home most of the time. He LOVES people and loves to love on them and have them love on him. His new home should have another dog since he has always lived with other dogs and enjoys having a playmate. The dog in his new home would need to be a submissive/non-aggressive dog and they should be introduced slowly. His new family should have Frenchie experience since he has had some back issues in the past and has the typical "can't handle the heat" Frenchie sensitivities. The best type of home for Mowgli would be a house with a fenced yard. Since Mowgli had some back issues in the past, his new home should not require him to go up and down stairs. His stair activity needs to be kept to a minimum. Ceiling fans cause Mowgli serious anxiety and he cries and barks. Same with a vacuum.  

Mowgli's new family can work from home or work outside of the home. If his new family works outside of the home he would need to be kept on a consistent walk schedule and have someone come over at lunch to give him a potty break. Mowgli would be a great dog to take with you to the office. He settles down really well and will sleep all day, given a pre-work walk. He has gone to the office with his foster mom and behaved like a perfect puppy. If there were other dogs in the office, there would need to be an effort on introductions so that Mowgli felt comfortable.

If you would like to adopt this fun-loving pup, be prepared to travel. Mowgli is being fostered in the eastern MA area and will not be shipped. In fact, as far as travel goes, Mowgli is too big to fly but LOVES the car. His new family will need to drive out to the Boston area to pick him up.
